Force - A force is a push or a pull acting upon an object as a result of its interaction with another object
Force can cause an object to move
Force can change an object's speed
It can also change direction
It can change the shape of an object.
Force has magnitude and direction.
Magnitude is the strength of the force applied to an object. It can be measured in Newton (N).
The direction tells which way the force is acting.
Measuring force is expressed in terms of newton (N.)
Contact forces - with physical contact, touching
Non-contact forces - without physical contact, at a distance.
Contact forces:
Applied force
Normal force
Frictional force
Air Resistance force
Buoyant force
Non-Contact Forces
Gravitational force
Magnetic force
Electrical force
Balanced force
Balanced forces do not change the way an object moves. Net force cancels out or becomes zero.
Net Forces - Net force is the combination of forces acting on a certain object. It determines whether an object starts moving speed up, stop moving, or change directions.
When do we observe equilibriums? - An object is an equilibrium, when forces acting on it is balanced.
Objects at Rest - Objects that are not moving will remain motionless
Objects in Motion - moving objects equilibrium will continue to move at a constant speed in a straight line.
The net force is computed by looking at the opposite forces.
Unbalanced forces - If a force acting in one direction is greater than the other, the force is unbalanced.Unbalanced forces can make to move more faster or slower change direction.
