• the hydrophobic tails face each other while the hydrophilic heads face outwards.
• Channel proteins act as a pore and allows lipid soluble molecules to pass through.
• Carrier proteins act as a pore to carry large or water substances into or out of the cell.
• Glycoprotein allows the cell to tell self from non-self.
