Stages of development

• Stages of dev is compared to stages of life to the sun's journey. The sun is the unconsciousness.
• Child full of potential, lack of brilliance.

  1. anarchic - chaotic and sporadic. Little awarness of self
  2. monarchic - development of ego and by the beginning of logical and verbal thinking.
  3. dualistic - seperate themselves as individuals
• Youth - morning sub. Young people strive to gain psychic and physical independence from their parents, find a mate, and start a family
• Youth is the period of increased actiivty. The goal is to overcome yhe natural tendency to cling onto the narrow consciousness of childhood (conservative principle).
• Middle life (early afternoon sun) - letting fo of the social and moral values of early life. From the extraverted god of youth, you move onto the introverted direction of expanded consciousness. Denial.
• Evening sun - find meaning in death. Not ready to die.
• Self-realization - individuation. Becoming complete, whole people. succesfully pulled the opposing forces. THIS IS RARE and only achieve through assimilating unconscious.
