Cards (24)

  • STAR - It nodes is connected to central node called hub or switch.
  • BUS - It consists of a main run of cable with a terminator at each end and connected to single cable or bus.
  • NETWORK TOPOLOGIES - It is the arrangement of the various elements of a computer or a biological network.
  • MESH - It is connected to each other by separate cables. This type of topology is generally used in military area
  • NETWORK DEVICES - It refers to hardware that facilitates the use of a computer network.
  • TREE - It is a network topology in which a central “root” node is connected to one or more other nodes that are one level lower in the hierarchy.
  • HYBRID - It used a combination of any two or more topologies in such a way that resulting network does not exhibit one of the standard topologies.
  • RING - It is setup in a circular fashion in which data travels around the ring in one direction and each device on the right acts as a repeater to keep the signal strong as it travels.
  • COMPUTER NETWORK - It is a collection of computers and other hardware interconnected by communication channels that allow sharing of resources and information.
  • POINT TO POINT - It is a point-to-point communication channel that appears to user to be permanently associated with two endpoints.
  • MODEM - It is a device that modulates an analog “carrier” signal to encode digital information, and that also demodulates such carrier signal to decode the transmitter information.
  • PROXIES -
It is a device acts as a firewall by responding to input packets in the manner of an application, whilst blocking other packets.
  • NETWORKING CABLES - It is used to connect one network device to other network devices or to connect two or more computer to share a printer, scanner and etc.
  • HUB -
It is a device connects multiple Ethernet segments together making them act as a single segment.
  • BROUTER - It is a combination of router and bridge and transmits two types of traffic at exact same time.
  • SWITCH - It is a device that allocates traffic from one network segment to certain lines which connect the segment to another network segment.
  • BRIDGE - It is a device that connects multiple network segments along the data link layer.
  • GATEWAY - It is a device setting at a network node for interfacing with another network that uses different protocols.
  • REPEATER - It is a device to amplify or regenerate digital signals received while sending them from one part of a network into another.
  • ROUTER - It is a specialized network device that determines the next network point to which it can forward a data packet towards the destination of the packet.
  • NETWORK INTERFACE CARD - It is a hardware card installed in a computer so it can communicate on a network and provides one or more ports for the network cable to connect to, and it transmits and receives data onto the network cable.
  • FIREWALL - It is a piece of hardware or software which functions in a networked environment to prevent some communications forbidden by the security policy.
  • MULTIPLEXER - It is a device that combines several electrical signals into a single signal.
  • TRANSCEIVERS - It is a device that both transmits and receives analog or digital signals
