Reproduction

• Sexual reproduction: when sex cell from 2 individuals fuse to form a zygote
• asexual reproduction : when an organism makes an exact copy of itself to form a new individual such as unicellular organism , potato and strwberry
• fertilisation: when the nuclei of the gametes fuse to make a new cell
• zygote: single fertilised egg cell that develops into embryo
• ovum: female reproductive cells, also known as eggs
• Sexual reproduction : looks genetically different from their parents because it contains 2 set of genetic material, resulting a new combination of genetic material in offspring
• Animal male gamete : sperm
• anime female gamete : ovum also known as eggs
• plant male gamete : pollen
• plant female gamete: ovule
• Fertilised egg :zygote rapidly divides to a blastocyst . 4 weeks after the egg is fertilised it turns to an embryo. 6 weeks later it becomes a foetus.
• amniotic fluid protects the baby from damages
• the blastocyst embed in the uterus
• embryonic stage lasts until week 8
• The placenta provides nutrients, oxygen and removes waste products
• foetal stage lasts until birth
• umbilical cord connects placenta with the foetus
• birth canal is made up of vagina , cervix and uterus
