The argument

Cards (6)

  • if there is a God who is all-powerful and all-loving then why is there evil and suffering in the world?
If God truly is all-powerful then he should be able to eliminate evil, and if he loved us he would do just that
  • Is a logical problem based on the religious God presented in Judaism, Christianity and Islam
  • Because there is clear evidence of evils and existence and not Gods we can come to the conclusion that God does not exist ~
  • If there is a God who is all-powerful, then he could've made any kind of world or no world at all. He could've made a world without pain or suffering or death, but he chose not to. which creates inconsistencies with the claim that God is both all-loving and all-powerful
  • The problem of evil is a logical problem - A priori
  • How does the problem of evil work as an evidential problem?
when the argument is seen as evidential, we can take our own experience and suffering.
As an a posteriori argument, it asks us to look for the best and most plausible explanation for this.
