    Consumer culture includes art like chart pop music, food like supermarket brands, clothing like fashion brands, sports accessed through subscriber-only channels and lifestyles involving shopping, surfing the Internet, visiting restaurants and hotels and wearing the latest
  • Membership
    Can be expensive and this can make it exclusive(related to High Culture e.g designer jewellery, five star hotels, ect)
    Often inclusive in that it is open to anyone who can pay.
    Expensive consumer culture = privileged: status on people who enjoy it or produce it. ( fashionable and elegant).
    Cheap consumer culture is stigmatised because it marks you out as lacking discernment

    Clothing designs based on styles presented at Fashion Week or worn by celebrities that are put on sale immediately.
    Fast fashion allows mainstream consumers to purchase the hot new look or the next big thing at an affordable price.
    offers instant gratification for consumers.
    It lets ordinary people dress in fashions associated with privilege, but the low cost makes it inclusive. However, it has been criticised for contributing to pollution, waste and encouraging a "disposable" mentality where trendy clothes are bought and thrown away when the next trend comes along.
