• Chemicals refer to certain substances or mixture of substances (example: oxygen and salt water) that isn’t energy. Chemicals are really just “matter.” The term ”chemical” does not have a specific scientific meaning. Chemicals can have characteristics that make them useful, hazardous, or both (example: oxygen is useful but is also flammable and explosive when compressed).
