  • What are real and apparent goods?
    Humans do bad things because they are mistaken by apparent goods, these are actions that seem good for your benefit but are wrong in the eyes of others e.g stealing a car is bad but the thief has gained pleasure from stealing it
  • An immoral act or sin is falling short of God's wish for us.
  • Temptations are apparent and are not real
  • Aquinas believed that reason identified natural or cardinal virtues: prudence, temperance, fortitude and justice. some virtues are revealed in scripture: faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13) and we should act to develop these virtues and keep the natural law
