  • The explanation of the controlled variable includes: What, How, Why?

    It answers what the controlled variable you will be controlling; it goes on to explain how you will control it; it tells you why it must be controlled (what the effect on the dependent variable may be).
  • Conclusion: "As the independent variable (IV) increases the dependent variable (DV) increases or decreases "in even amounts" OR "in decreasing amounts" OR "in increasing amounts"."
  • CUTLASS stands for: Cross, Units (both axes), Title (top of graph), Label (both axes), Axes (evenly divided), Straight Line OR Smooth Curve ("best fit line"), Size (half a page).
  • You must keep all recordings on your chart to the same decimal place (e.g. 2dp).
