• oxygen diffuses from air into blood
• carbon dioxide diffuses from blood into air
• Aerobic respiration - glucose + O2 -> CO2 + water
• Aerobic respiration is exorhermic
• anaerobic respiration Is glucose + oxygen --> lactic acid + water
