  • How to play?
    Badminton rackets are used to hit a shuttlecock back and forth over the net in an effort to get the shuttle to land on the other side of the court.
  • How does a game start?
    it starts with a toss. The winner of the toss can choose to either serve first or choose the side of the court in they want to play for the first game
  • How to score?
    • If you win a rally on your serve, you score a point
    • Win a rally on your opponents serve
    • Hitting the shuttlecock so that it lands on the opponent’s side of the court
    • Your opponent comes into contact with the net, fails to return the shuttle over the net or hits the shuttle outside the court
  • Officials in a game:
    • umpire- calls the score and makes final decisions
    • service judge- looks for service errors
    • 10 line judges- look at different lines of court to determine if the shuttle falls inside or outside of the court

    • Racket

  • How long does a game take?
    21 points and a match is the best of three games

    • Serving
    • dropping
    • clearing
  • Rules of Badminton:
    • players must not touch the net with their body, clothing or rack
    • players are not allowed to reach over the net to hit the shuttle
    • the shuttle must not be carried on or come to rest on the racket
