  • Types of Injuries:
    1. Injuries caused by a sudden stress on the body, common in contact sports like rugby and football
    2. Overuse injuries, more common and caused by heavy training, insufficient rest, wrong technique, etc. Example: tennis players may suffer from tennis elbow, runners from an inflamed Achilles tendon
  • Fracture, also known as a broken bone, occurs when excess pressure is put on a bone leading to a break, often due to a contact injury
  • When handling a fracture:
    • Call for an ambulance
    • While waiting, try to treat the injury only if you know how, following proper fracture treatment procedures
