  • Skills, talents, and abilities are essential for human activities:
    • Skill: Doing something very well due to practice and knowledge
    • Talent: Capacity for success based on a natural gift
    • Ability: Competence in an activity or occupation
  • Economic sectors are divided into four categories:
    1. Primary sector: extraction of raw materials from the physical environment, e.g., fishing, forestry, farming, and mining
    2. Secondary sector: processing raw materials, known as secondary economic activity, e.g., manufacturing industry and construction industry
    3. Tertiary sector: service industries meeting consumer needs, e.g., accounting, teaching, driving, and music
    4. Quaternary sector: ICT careers, involving research, development, and information, e.g., robotics, radiology, consultancy, and financial planning
  • Manufacturing is the process of assembling raw materials to create a finished product
  • Construction industry is classified as a secondary activity, e.g., using cement or board to build homes
  • Careers in the primary sector include farmers, miners, and fishermen
  • Careers in the secondary sector include builders, engineers, and manufacturers
  • Careers in the tertiary sector include accounting, teaching, driving, hairdressing, and music
  • Careers in the quaternary sector include being a blogger, radiologist, and GIS specialist
