  > Cleanest fossil fuel (45% less co2 emissions than coal)

  > Less risk of environmental accidents

  > Lots of natural gas available

  > Pipelines expensive to build and maintain

  > Contribute to global warming through co2 and methane released

  > chemicals may contaminate nearby water sources
