• Interphase - Period of the cell between cell divisions. Preparatory stage for cell division
• Interphase - G1 Phase

  • Between Mitosis and DNA synthesis
  • Growing cell: organelles are duplicating
  • Metabolically active cell
  • Lasts up to 11 hrs.
• Interphase - G0 Phase

  • Quiescent stage

  • Metabolically active cell

  • Not dividing cell
• Interphase – S PHASE

  • DNA replication

  • Increase in DNA content

  • Last up to 8 hrs
• Interphase – G2 PHASE

  • Protein synthesis

  • Check point: damaged DNA (unreplicated DNA)

  • Lasts up to 4 hrs
• M - PHASE

  • Cell Division: Mitosis & Meiosis

  • Lasts for 1 hr.
