  • Structural Unemployment
    unemployment occurs because of structural changes within the economy caused by changes with technology or changes with demand for goods and services
  • Cyclical Unemployment
    occurs with changes in the economic activity over the business cycle.
    During an economic downturn there is a lack of demand for goods and services which results in businesses reducing there amount of workers which results in more people looking for work.

  • Frictional Unemployment
    Represents the people who are temporarily unemployed as they have finished one job but not ready to start a new one.
  • Seasonal Unemployment
    Occurs during predictable and regular times throughout the year because of some jobs seasonal nature
