Crime and Punishment

• Many Muslim countries follow Shari'ah law

• Shar'iah law allows corporal punishment

• Some Christians and Muslims believe adultery and abortion are wrong

  • Despite them being legal
• In the UK, the intentions of the criminal are taken into account

  • Shari'ah law looks at the severity of the religious law broken
• Many Muslims think people are not perfect and make mistakes

  • crimes are a result of people not resisting temptation rather than being evil
• Christians believe no one is evil and everyone makes mistakes

  • People are created good so there is usually a reason they do wicked things
  • E.g. mental illness
