Qualitative
data is descriptions of the characteristics of what is being studied
Quantitative
data is data that can be measured, counted, or calculated.
Error bars indicate the amount of
uncertainty
in the measurement of the value of the variable.
Idk
Mean is the
sum
of all the
values
in a
set
divided by the number of values in the set.
Median
is the
middle
value in a set of data.
To find the Median you must arrange the data points from
smallest
to
largest
and find the
middle
data point
The
mode
is the number in a set that occurs the most frequently
Nominal
Data is data that is in the form of
numbers
, such as age, height, weight, and income.
Ordinal
data is data that can be ranked in order, such as age, income, and weight.
Interval
data is data that is measured on a
scale
in which each point is placed at equal distance from one another
Ratio
data is Quantitative data with an equal and definitive ratio between each data and absolute
“zero”
being treated as a point of origin.
The Confidence interval is the range of values that is
95%
likely to contain the population parameter.
The
Interquartile
range is the difference between the first and third quartiles.
To get the interquartile range, you must:
Put the
numbers
in order
Find the
Median
Place
parentheses
around the numbers before and after the
median
Find the median of both Parentheses (
Q1
and
Q2
)
Subtract
Q1
from
Q2
How to Deduce Variability:
Calculate the
mean
Subtract the
mean
from each score to get
deviation
score
Square each
deviation
score
Add up
squared
deviation score
Divide the
sum
by the
number
of scores
