• Rivers are streams of water which flow from high ground to low ground.

• The Earth is surrounded by gaseous environment called the atmosphere.
• • The weather pattern is referred to as the climate.
• • Natural vegetation refers to plants which have not been planted by people but have grown naturally.
• • The physical environment is made up of four main components.
• Geosphere is land. Example landforms and rocks.
• Hydrosphere is water. Example rivers, lakes and oceans.
• Atmosphere is air. Example weather, climate.
• Biosphere is living environment. Example natural vegetation, wildlife.
• Landforms and rocks are created and changed by processes beneath and on the Earth’s surface.
• Rivers create and change landforms on the Earth’s surface.
