Pure maths formulae

Cards (4)

  • Geometric sequences:
    un = ar^(n-1)
  • Arithmetic sequences
    un = a + (n-1)d
  • Cosine rule
    c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab cos(angle)
    You can usually use the cosine rule when you are given two sides and the included angle (SAS) or when you are given three sides and want to work out an angle (SSS)
  • Sine rule
    sinA / a = sinB / b = sinC / c
    The sine rule is used when we are given either
    1. two angles and one side
    2. two sides and a non-included angle
