  • Prefix - beginning ( descriptive )
    • is not always present but when it is, it forms the beginning of the word. Location, direction, number, quantity , amount, size, color.
  • Root middle (subject)
    -the easiest to think of the root is it is the subject and it often pertains to a body part or system.
  • Suffix ending (meaning )
    -which forms the end of the word, gives meaning to the medical word. Disease, disorder, condition, procedures, process, specialty or test.
