life on the plains

• summers were hot and dry 


  hard - lack of water
• winters were extremely cold


  hard - hypothermia and no insulation
• plains were dry with very little surface water 


  hard - lack of drinking water - dehydration
• when it rained it was torrential 


  flash flooding which would destroy camps
• thunder and lightening


  start fires on the plains - can't put them out
• survive the IP needed to hunt the buffalo - migrated


  hard - not enough food - starving

  had to follow the buffalo - nomadic lifestyle
