• Visual art is a fundamental component of the human experience, reflecting the world and the time in which we live
• Emotions can be expressed in various ways through art, with people's work representing their inner selves rather than what is observed based on the outside
• Visual arts are primarily visual in nature and appeal to the sense of sight, with the 7 basic elements being shape, line, space, form, texture, value, and color
• A shape is a two-dimensional design encased by lines to signify its height and width
• Lines are marks moving in a space between two points, with artists using many different types
• Space is the distance between shapes and objects
• Form is a three-dimensional object that can be held and walked around
• Texture is usually used to describe the surface quality
• Value refers to the degree of perceivable lightness of tones within an image
• Color is the spectrum of light broken down when hitting a surface and reflected into the eye
• Film, also known as a movie or motion picture, simulates experiences and communicates ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere through moving images
• The techniques in film-making process include motion picture camera, animation techniques, and computer-generated imagery (CGI)
• Performing arts, such as music, dance, and drama, are performed for an audience and involve elements like setting, time, performer's body, and the relationship between the audience and performer
• Spoken word is an oral poetic performance art based mainly on the poem and the performer's aesthetic qualities
• Improvisational theatre, often called improv, is a form of theatre where most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted, created spontaneously by the performers
