Serial motor skills are performed n a sequence. They are a combination of discrete skills. E.g. Gymnastics floor routine
Discrete motor skills have an obvious beginning and end. E.g. Kicking a ball, netball pass
Closed motor skills are those where the performer has the greatest control over the performance environment. This relates to external factors such as weather, playing surface, and opposition. E.g. Indoor diving routine
Open motor skills is performed in a less predictable environment. The conditions are constantly changing and the performer has limited, if any, control over their environment. E.g. white-water rafting
