• An ocean gyre is a large system of circular currents formed by global wind patterns and forces created by Earths rotation

• Climate change has been going on since the earth formed
• When we refer to the global temperature change since the 1970s, we call this period of warming global warming
• Causes of climate change:

  • Some gases in the lower atmosphere act like a blanket around the Earth, trapping heat, known as the greenhouse effect
• Many people move to Dhaka (the capital of Bangladesh) because of rising sea levels
• Climate change may result in food shortages as crops in plantations can become flooded and others may not get the water they need
• The advanced greenhouse effect means faster than average rising temperatures
