• cells --> The building blocks of multicellular organisms. Cell are specialised for a particular function. E.g. muscle cells and epithelial cells
• tissue --> A group of specialised cells working together to carry out one function. E.g. muscle cells combining to make muscle tissue
• organ --> A group of tissues working together to carry out one function. E.g. muscle, nerve and epithelium working together in the heart.
• organ system --> A group of organs working together to carry out a particular function. E.g. the circulatory system
• Epigenetics

  The precise sequence of transcription and translation of genes determines the sequence of changes during development. The epigenome helps to control the change from single-celled zygote to a fully formed adult, containing a variety of tissues and organs.
