Christianity

• Christians believe god has the following characteristics:

  • omnipotent
  • benevolent
  • just
  • eternal
  • omniscient
  • transcendent
  • immanent
• Just

  -God judges peoples' actions fairly

  -Those who reject him and live sinful lives will be punished.

  -God forgives people who are sorry for what they have done and become faithful to him
• Transcendent:

  -God is beyond this world- he doesn't depend on it to exist.
• Immanent:

  -God is present in the human world and takes an active role in humanity.
• 'in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' - Genesis
• Genesis chapter 1 says that god created the world in 6 days.
• Day 1 light and darkness were made
• Day 2 the sky was made
• Day 3 the oceans, land and plants were created
• Day 4 the sun, moon and stars were created
• Day 5 the creatures of the water and sky were created
• Day 6 land animals and people were created
• Day 7 God rested.
• All 3 aspects of the Trinity were involved in the creation.
• 'the spirit of God was hovering over the waters and God said let there be light and there was light' Genesis.
