  • Morals - are specific ways of behaving or the way that people ser out to accomplish ethical practices.

  • Ethical Dilemma - a situation in which an individual feels compelled to choose between two or more actions that he or she can reasonably and morally justify.
  • Dilemmas - may arise from conflicts between nurses and other health care professionals.

    2. Organizational Level
    3. Structural Level
  • Example of non-moral standards:
    1. Standard of etiquette by which we judge manners as good or bad.
    2. Standard we call the law by which we judge legal right and wrong.
    3. Standard of aesthetics, good or bad art.
    4. The athletic standards, how well a game is being played.
  • SECTION 4. Ethical Principles for Registered Nurses
    1. Values, customs, and spiritual beliefs held by individuals shall be respected.
    2. Individual freedom to make rational and constrained decisions shall be respected.
    3. Personal information acquired in the process of giving nursing care shall be held in strict confidence.
  • Define Ethics:
    It means trying to forgive out why one should behave morally, as well as understanding the motivating factors for this behavior.
  • Define Moral Dilemma: also known as a situation in which there is a choice made between two options, neither of which resolves he situation in an ethically acceptable fashion.
