  • Weight - Anything on the Earth's surface that is pulled down by gravity downward.
  • normal force - A reaction when this touch or collide
  • Tension - a kind of pulling force exerted on a nonrigid object.
  • Contact force - If contact is needed for the force to act on objects.
  • Noncontact Force - Also called action-at-a-distance
  • Inertia - The tendency of an object to keep doing what it is already doing.
  • Equilibrium - It exists when all forces acting on an object balance each other out.
  • Mass - A quantity that shows how much inertia an object has
  • Law of Inertia - An object at rest will remain at rest; An object in motion tends to remain in uniform velocity for as long as there is no net force acting on it.
  • Law of acceleration - If a net force is acting on an object, it will accelerate in the direction of the net force. The magnitude of the acceleration is directly proportional to the net force, and is inversely proportional to the objects mass.
  • Law of Interaction - When body A exerts a force on body B. B will exert an equal but opposite force on A
  • Acceleration - A measure of how fast the velocity of an object changes.
  • Equilibrant - A single force that balances a nonzero net force.
  • Resultant Force - The sum of all forces acting on an object.
