  • A conic section is the intersection of a plane and a right double-coned figure.
  • Different Types of Conic Sections:
    Circle - it will always form a circle
    Ellipse - the plane is slightly slanted and it creates an oblong
    Parabola - the plane is slanted and it creates a parabola
    Hyperbola - the planes cuts vertically and it has a pair of parabolas
  • General Form Equation of a Conic Section:
    Ax2 + Bxy + Cy2 + Dx + Ey + F = 0
  • Standard Form of the Equation of a Conic Sections:
    ( x - h ) 2 + ( y - k ) 2 = r2
  • If a=b, then it's a circle
  • 0=0 cannot make a circle
