    ● Between 2000 and 2050, the proportion of the world’s population over 60 years will double from about 11% to 22%.
    ● The absolute number of people aged 60 years and over is expected to increase from 605 million to 2 billion over the same period.
    ● 2 billion people will be aged 60 and older by 2050.
    4-6% of older persons in high-income countries have experienced some form of maltreatment at home.
    25-30% of people aged 85 or older have some degree of cognitive decline.

    ● Population of 60 y/o or older:
    1995: 3.7 M or 5.4% of total population
    2000: 4.8 M or 6% of total population
    2012: 7 M or 6.9% of total population
    2018: 7.55 M
    ● According to statistics, 44.20% of the older persons are MALES, while 55.80% of them are FEMALES. Whereas, 1.3 M of the senior citizen population belongs to indigenous groups or are INDIGENT.
