Intro Non-rhythmic Complications of AMI

• Non-rhythmic complications of acute MI:

  • There are a number of complications which are classed as non-rhythmic complications of acute MI which indicate that structures other than pace-maker and conducting systems are affected:
  • Cardiogenic Shock
  • Left Ventricular Failure (LVF)
  • Right Ventricular Failure (RVF)
  • Pulmonary emboli and pulmonary infarction
  • Systemic Arterial Embolisms
  • Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA)
  • Cardiac Rupture
  • Rupture of the Intra-Ventricular Septum
  • Rupture of papillary muscle(s)
