  • The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA):
    Act which regulates the powers of public bodies to carry out surveillance and investigation, and covering the interception of communications.
  • Internet Censorship:
    The deliberate control, suppression or prohibition of what can be accessed or published on the internet, via ISP, libraries, schools, businesses censor by filtering (blocking sites). In the UK this includes extremist politics, extreme pornography and sites that infringe copyright.
  • CDPA:
    The Copyright Design and Patents Act 1988: Legislation which gives creators of literacy, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control the ways in which their material may be used.
  • Piracy:
    The unauthorised use, copying, distribution and selling of works under copyright.
  • Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data must be:

  • Computer Misuse Act 1990:
