  • Long shot - Subject will be far away with a lot of space around them.
  • Close up - Shows an actor's face close to the camera.
  • Mid-shot - Shows actors from the waist up. Can show one, or a few people.
  • Low angle - Taken from ground level, viewer looks up at a scene.
  • High angle - Taken from high up, looking down on a scene.
  • Over the shoulder - Taken over a character's shoulder. Allows the viewer to see what the character sees.
  • An aerial shot is a shot that is taken from high up and looks down on the subject.
  • Panning is a camera movement when the camera moves horizontally left or right from a fixed position.
  • Tilting is a camera movement where the camera moves up or down from a fixed position.
  • Tracking is a camera movement where the camera physically moves, often to follow the subject. This uses a dolly on a track.
