    • the same alcohol they gave to Duncan‘s guards to get them drunk so they could kill Duncan is the same alcohol she is using to fuel her own violence
    • Appears more ruthless and barbaric than Macbeth does
  • “The sleeping and the dead are but as pictures: tis the eye of childhood“
    • a lot more strong
    • She is ridiculing macbeths guilt and Macbeth‘s feelings towards violence
    • Saying that almost as innocent as pictures of children so she’s ridiculing this in a turmoil of Macbeth
  • “had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done it”
    • seen as her justification for being more of a coward
    • She never commits any violent acts and her justification is that if King Duncan didn’t look so much like her father she would’ve killed him herself
    • Lady macbeths weaknesses appear in act 2 although she appears to be the malevolent evil force behind Macbeth she does have this weakness
    • More emotional, less strong than Macbeth
  • “A little water clears us of this deed”
    • “a little water” is her undermining this guilt, this trauma, this inner turmoil of Macbeth and she’s just saying a little water will get it off don’t worry about it
  • “My hands are of your colour I shame to wear a heart so white”
    • completely ridiculing Macbeth‘s guilt, she is not only trivialising it but she is patronising and emasculating Macbeth
    • cantos purity and innocence - undermining his presence and his strength
