    Latency (6-12) is a period of reduced sexuality.
    Its major development is developing defence mechanisms.

    This is the morality principle it acts on our morals and is the opposite to the Id. It develops in the Phallic stage.

    It is the pleasure principle that fulfils our selfish demands.It is developed at birth.
  • What is the ego in Freud's tripartite of personality?
    It is the reality principle, it's a mediator between the Id and the Superego. When it can't keep up, it releases defence mechanisms to reduce anxiety.

    Biological drives and instincts, such as hunger, thirst and sex. Upsetting and disturbing thoughts repressed from the conscious.
