• Measure of central tendency :

  • They are averages which give us information about the most typical values in a set of data : MEAN , MEDIAN , MODE , 
• Measure of dispersion : 

  • How spread out data is : range and standard deviation 
• Range : 

  • Higher the range the less representative the median is 
• Standard deviation : 

  • High standard deviation : suggest greater spread of scores around the mean.--> not similar → affected by IV
  • Low standard deviation : suggests the scores are clustered close to mean → ppts responded similarly
