Scene 6 - Analysis

Cards (3)

  • Scene 6 serves as some Comic Relief again to contrast with the seriousness of the preceding scene in which Faustus deeds his soul to Lucifer in exchange for power and knowledge
  • In Scene 6, Magic is an exalted subject which is seriously pursued, but in this scene it is reduced by a lout to something trivial and low
  • In Scene 6, once more, the actions of a minor character seem to point out that anyone with the right book can perform magic of some kind without limitless knowledge or loss of his soul
