  -connects the eye piece and nose piece

  -used to switch through objectives
• Stage clips

  -used to hold the slides tightly

  -where we place the slides with the specimen

  -used to focus the light on the specimen

  -can be a mirror or electric light source

  -where we hold to carry

  -where we hold to carry with the arm

  -the joint on the arm to adjust

  -used to adjust the stage

  -used to adjust the resolution
• Steps to properly use a Microscope

  1. Use course adjustment to lower stage all the way do the bottom slowly
  2. Use nosepiece to turn to low power objective
  3. Lay slide onto stage
  4. Use stage clips to make sure slide doesnt move
  5. Make sure specimen is over the light hole
  6. While looking through the eyepiece, slowly use the course adjustment to focus specimen
