• The Brain analyses sensory information and directs future responses
• The Brain is responsible for directing both conscious and some unconscious responses
• The Spinal Cord receives sensory information from the PNS and transports the info to the brain via Interneurons
• The Spinal Cord receives motor decisions from the brain and relays them back to the PNS via the interneurons
• The Spinal Cord can initiate simple motor responses in the form of spinal reflexes that occur rapidly without consulting the brain
