  • Quality control is making sure that products are kept up to a high standard
  • Registration marks are used on the outer edge of a commercially printed item, they are printed using CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) to make sure that it has printed accurately so the registration mark is entirely black.
  • Colour bars are used to measure the various aspects of a printed item such as ink density, overprinting and misalignment
  • Creasing and folding crushes the fibres of paper and board and adds a permanent mark to enable shapes to be formed. This is used in bulk for packaging and machinery is used to ensure a consistent fold every time.
