• 1. experiment
  2. Set up the four identical flasks/ boiling tube painted black, grey, white and silver (use the same thickness of material)
  3. Fill the flasks with hot water, ensuring the measurements start from the same initial temperature and the same volume of water
  4. Note the starting temperature using a thermometer , then measure the temperatures at regular intervals e.g. every 30 seconds for 10 minutes using a stopclock
  5. plot a graph with temperature against time
