Anointing of the sick - known as the Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing

It is a Pure Olive Oil
Nothing being added except for the Blessing of the bishop.
It helps unite those who are suffering with Jesus' saving and healing power
It is a Sacrament of the Catholic Church which celebrates our faith in the healing touch of Christ in our lives
We pray that the sick person be healed in body, soul and spirit.

The Prayer of Faith
The laying-on of Hands
The Anointing with oil
The priest places his hands on the head of the one to be anointed, and anoints the forehead and hands of the sick person with the Oil which has been blessed by the Bishop during Holy Week.
Holy Communion may be received at this time.
The priest then blesses the sick person and all present.
Wet your right thumb with the consecrated oil.
Draw a cross in the middle of the person’s forehead with your thumb.
