Instruments in the Orchestra

• There are 4 families of instruments in the orchestra:

  1. String
  2. Woodwind
  3. Brass
  4. Percussion
• 1. String instruments-> Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses, Harp,
• 2. Woodwind instruments->Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Cor Anglais, Clarinet, Bassoon
• 3. Brass instruments-> Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba
• 4. Percussion instruments-> Chimes, Timpani, Glockenspiel, Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone, Celesta, Piano, Snare drums, Bass drums, Cymbals, Tambourine, Castanets, Triangle, Maracas, Gong
