is the author's impression about the topic or subject.
Exposition
is defining what something is and providing an in-depth discussion about topics that are usually less explored.
Narration
is like storytelling, conveying a story chronologically.
Expressive
is usually in the first person point of view, wherein in the process the author reveals his/her personal identity.
Transactional
is a directive in nature as it provides detailed information on how something is done or made.
Academic discourse
is usually expository or academic in nature. It presents ideas or thoughts about a concept in a scholarly way.
