• Reading is a cognitive process that involves the decoding of written symbols into meaningful representations of the world.
• Reading Process is a step-by-step process of reading a text.
• There are 3 stages of Reading Process: Pre-reading, During Reading, and After Reading.
• Pre-Reading is when a reader do some background checking about the text's topic, author, and purpose.
• During Reading is the second stage in Reading Process that predicts the meaning of the text.
• After Reading is the final stage where readers reflect on what they have read and evaluate their understanding of it.
• Reading Comprehension is the level of understanding of a certain text.
• There are 5 Techniques to improve your Reading Comprehension: Skimming, Scanning, Detailed Note Taking, Inferences, and Conclusion.
• Skimming is reading quickly through a text without stopping or paying attention to every word.
• Scanning in reading comprehension is the process of reading a text and looking for the main idea.
• Detailed note-taking is writing down detailed information from a text as you read.
