Participant is not aware of the research aims and/of which condition of the experiment they are receiving. Prevents pps from seeking cues about the aims and reacting to them
Double Blind Trial
Both pp and researcher are ‘blind’ to the aims and/or hypotheses. Therefore, the person conducting the study is less likely to produce cues about what s/he expects
Experimental Realism
If a researcher makes an experimental task sufficiently engaging, the pp pays attention to the task and not the fact that they are being observed.
