    Generally, 50% of the narrative is presented without words. The readers must interpret the image in order to comprehend the complete story. Textual portions are presented in traditional form. Some Illustrated novels may contain no text at all. Illustrated novels span all genres

    Triple Media Literature: 1. Book, 2. Movie/Video, 3. Internet Website. In order to get the full story, students must engage in navigation, reading, viewing, in all three formats
  • Manga
    Japanese word for COMICS. Comic books and graphic novels originally published in Japan. One of the most famous Japanese pop cultures. Unlike American comic books which are usually printed in full color, Japanese manga are almost always published in black and white
  • Doodle Fiction
    A literary presentation where the author incorporates drawings and handwritten graphics in place traditional front. Drawings enhance the story, often adding humorous elements that would be missing if the illustrations were omitted

    Stories told almost completely in dialogue, simulating social network exchanges using blog, email, & IM format narratives
