• Test for carbonates (CO₃²⁻)

  Add acid - creates bubbles
• Test for sulfates (SO₄²⁻)

  Add HCl + Barium chloride - creates a white precipitate
• Test for chloride ions (Cl⁻)

  Add nitric acid + silver nitrate - creates a white precipitate
• Test for bromide ions (Br⁻)

  Add nitric acid + silver nitrate → cream precipitate
• Test for iodide ions (I⁻)

  Add nitric acid + silver nitrate → yellow precipitate
